HOW AGS WORKS

WEEK-LONG EVENTS

Select An Event And Play Your Round Any Day That Week

AGS events run from Monday-Sunday each week and if you want to tee it up, simply pick any day or time that fits your schedule. Play when and where you want with NO minimum commitment: you are never locked into a set day or time and whether you plan your schedule in advance or on a whim, you can always enjoy friendly competition and elevate your game.

Leaderboard Integrity

STEP ONE:

Partner Verification

Scores better than Net Even Par require verification from a playing partner. AGS members can verify twice per season; non-members, once. Scores from solo rounds or without partner contact info won’t count.

Benefits

Benefits of an AGS Membership

  • What does it cost to join AGS?
A standard membership costs $100 annually, with an $85 senior membership available for golfers aged 55 and over. We also offer a Premium Membership for $150, which includes access to playing opportunities at various private courses in your region. To learn more about membership and the benefits of each tier, please click here to visit our Membership page.
  • What does it cost to play in a Tour event?
Greens fees for each Tour event are almost always identical to the rack rate at the course for that given tee time. For example: if the weekday AM rate at Golf Course X is $75, the same tee time in our app will be $75. If they have a weekend PM rate at $65, our rate will be the same. You can choose whichever tee time(s) both fit your schedule and your budget.
  • When can I play a Tour event? Are there fixed days/times?
Each week-long AGS Tour event is hosted Monday through Sunday at a designated public course. Book any open tee time during that week-long window and post one score to qualify for the individual tournament leaderboard, as well as the season-long standings. Play in as many or as few tournaments as your schedule allows.
  • What is the playing format for a week-long tournament?
All events are 18-hole, stroke play competitions, with four divisions at each event: one gross flight for golfers with HDCPs up to 6.0, and three net divisions for golfers between 6.1-36 HI. The specific ranges of each flight are determined upon the end of the tournament, breaking participants into three even groups. To learn more about our tournament formatting, click here.
  • Can I play without a GHIN® number/Handicap ID?
No. A valid Handicap ID is required to play on the AGS Tour and its annual servicing is included in your annual membership fee. If you have an existing Handicap ID, you may use that number. If you register for AGS using the email tied to your GHIN/HDCP ID, our app will automatically make the connection, otherwise, simply enter your number in the applicable field at registration.
  • How do I book tee times?
Members are able to book tee times for the majority of Tour events directly through the AGS app. Tee sheets for each event are available on the event profile page and remain open exclusively to Tour members up until the course opens the tee sheet to the general public. When the exclusive booking period ends, members are encouraged to book directly with the host course, either through their website (a link will be provided on the event page at that time) or by calling the pro shop directly. Please note that select Tour courses have tee sheets which remain open year round and as such, all booking for those events will go through the host course. Tee times booked through the app will need to be paid in full at the time of booking.
  • How does scoring work?
All AGS events include four flights for competition. A Flight includes all golfers with a Handicap Index of 6.0 or lower at the time of play, who compete in a Gross tournament. B, C, and D Flights consist of an even number of golfers competing in net competition, which is determined at the end of each event week based on the composition of Handicap Indexes in that week's event. Upon completion of their round, members post their gross hole-by-hole score directly in our app. Leveraging industry-leading scoring technology powered by Golf Genius, our leaderboards automatically populate gross and net scores to display one's performance relative to their handicap. At the end of the week, points are awarded based on one's finishing position in their net flight. For a full description on our Scoring and Leaderboards, click here.
